DRIVEBY - JUST CAN'T GET ENOUGH!
11/11/2001

A drive-by video of the 2001 West End Brewery Chimney.

15/10/2001 - Heaps of 2001 Grand Final photos and movies have been added to the DOWNLOADS page. Enjoy. It's hard to believe that all the stuff I've made available is less than what is still sitting on my hard drive!

2001 CDFC Web Site Guestbook

Once again, entries on the Official CDFC web site guestbook were saved throughout the year. And once again it makes for interesting and amusing reading. You'll almost feel sorry for the poor opposition supporters as superior Centrals wit and humour prevails throughout! It's a shame no other club has an equivalent guestbook - elsewhere messages are deleted/edited so frequently that they might as well just run a propaganda board. In fact that's what almost all of the other clubs do - their guestbooks are screened and DO NOT allow any kind of strong criticism from supporters. The CDFC Guestbook 2001 can be obtained via email request.

2001 CHIMNEY UNVEILING
9/10/2001 - What a lovely way to spend my birthday!

Listen to KG struggle with the CENTRALS crowd at the chimney unveiling ceremony.I wonder who put the coach up to dressing like that. The team onstage during the ceremony.Well wouldn't you know! The chimney is RED, WHITE & BLUE... AGAIN!!The chimney unveiled in all its glory.

The 47th Brewery Chimney Unveiling Ceremony commenced at 11AM on Tuesday, 9th October, 2001. Once again, a large group of supporters attended the ceremony. And once again, the Chimney was painted with the colours of CENTRALS above the colours of Woodville-West Torrens. Listening to KG tell us how he recognised CENTRALS as THE SANFL powerhouse and NOT Port was a real turnaround from his attitude last year!

Chim chiminey

The chimney on Port Road stays RED, WHITE & BLUE!

THE DAY AFTER
8/10/2001

Grace MacKinnon gets her photo taken with Chris Gowans at the clubrooms. Born in 2000, Grace has known only that CENTRALS always wins the Premiership!!

BARK 2 BARK!
7/10/2001

Even at 8:45am the 3 Palms Inn was open for business!Campbell and Russell enjoy the first drinks of the morning served at the Premiers Bar!Adam and John in the Premiers Bar.The girls show off their banner in the Premiers Bar.When Paul Scoullar kicked the 8th goal for CENTRALS in the 3rd quarter, that was the moment when I knew we were going to win back to back Premierships! Just listen to that crowd.Crowd shot in the last quarter.Crowd shot in the last quarter.
Barry fired up another rendition of "Everywhere We Go!" in the last quarter.Banner in the 4th quarter. From the makers of the Crows banner "He's not the Messiah..." comes "Bark To Bark: We Stand United..."The team shows its appreciation for the singing, chanting army of supporters at the southern end.Captain Daniel Healy on the victory lap with the Cup.The team onstage at the Grand Final party. The team onstage at the after Grand Final party.

CENTRALS go back-to-back by winning the October 7th 2001 SANFL Grand Final in convincing fashion! The 39 point victory is Central's highest winning margin over the Eagles since 1997. The umpiring was shocking, but that didn't seem to matter as Centrals kept the Eagles goal-less for the entire 2nd half!

It's going to take me some time to organise the large number of digital photos/videos that I took on the day and night, so bear with me! Let me just say this: I took some beauties! :)

5/10/2001 - BULLDOG CENTRAL hits the bullseye as a 'ditty' from the Songs & Chants page is splashed across the back page of The Advertiser, distracting Eagles players and supporters as they prepare for the Grand Final. Eagles skipper Gavin Colville was "clearly not amused." he he.

Fuller Full Of It!
3/10/2001

The wacky, zany coach of the Eagles (Ron Fuller) had CENTRALS fans in stitches yesterday when he said in The Advertiser that Eagles fans could "shout down" the legendary Centrals chants in Sunday's Grand final.

28/9/2001 - Sorting through a pile of photos from 2000 when I found a picture of the "3 Palms Inn" from the 2000 Grand Final! Visit BULLDOG CENTRAL's "Premiership 2000" page to see 27 freshly scanned, never-seen-before photos from Grand Final day 2000. Hope this gets folks in the mood for Grand Final Day 2001!! PS: BULLDOG CENTRAL does not condone the use of flares. Pictures for illustration purposes only.

You'll Never Walk Alone
27/9/2001

The lyrics to "You'll Never Walk Alone", a regular CENTRALS chant for some, are now available on the Songs & Chants page. There you can also download the "Gerry & The Pacemakers" version of the song (MP3 format) so you'll know the tune come Grand Final day!

(Update: MP3 removed but can still be obtained on request)

Bark 2 Bark Grand Finals!
23/9/2001

Chris and Campbell before the game.A goal by Sammy in the 2nd quarter.Nice shot of the new Northern stand during a centre bounce in the 3rd quarter. See if you can spot the Eagles cheersquad. :) Nice shot of the scoreboard in the last quarter during a throw-in.

CENTRALS make the 2001 Grand Final after an impressive demolition of the Eagles! And check out BULLDOG CENTRAL's lovely new scrollbar! --->

Highest Score This Year
9/9/2001

A South player punches the ball as Slade, Ford and MacGowan close in.Matty Slade under a bit of pressure, but I think the scoreboard in the 3rd quarter says it all!Brian Haraida kicks his 3RD goal for the game!Kynan Ford kicks the last goal of the SANFL 2001 Minor Round.Rick MacGowan is chaired off the field after his 200th game.

CENTRALS registers its highest score of the season and highest winning margin of the season in disposing of South @ Noarlunga.

Centrals Are Minor Premiers
1/9/2001

An Eagles moron was shouting and abusing a female Centrals supporter seated behind him. The Police moved in and escorted the GIT away. There's nothing like photographic evidence to illustrate the bad behaviour of morons from other clubs.A chant of "YOU DOGS! YOU DOGS!" erupted in front of the grandstand after the DOGS' convincing win over the Eagles.

CENTRALS despatch the Eagles at their home ground and claim the Minor Premiership!

25/8/2001

Chris Gowans close-up during the muddy win against West Adelaide. Good photo. I'm using an 800x600 version of this one as my desktop wallpaper right now.A throw in during the 2nd quarter.A shocker in the 2nd quarter from 20 metres out. I think it was Quinton Graham? This kick is awarded the inaugural BULLDOG CENTRAL "Bulldog's Behind" award! Congratulations Quinno!

West kicked their lowest EVER score against the mighty CENTRALS! And with the wharfie scum going down to South, CENTRALS are top!

CENTRALS BEAT STURT (And go top for at least 24hrs!)
18/8/2001

Kynan Ford (18) bounces through a goal in the first quarter. The Bulldogs were all over Sturt, but a bird (probably a scummy magpie) was all over Adam's hat.A shot of the grandstand as the players leave the field after their comfortable win over Sturt.

11/8/2001

A centre bounce in the 3rd quarter. I was hoping Dey would bounce the damn thing into his own head - knock some sense into that joke of an umpire.CENTRALS leave the field after whipping Norwood by 46 points. Jeez, they whipped the scores off the scoreboard pretty quick! :)Quinton Graham (38) goals. Nice whistle in the background from Adam.Danny Stevens Goals. Apparently someone wasn't happy with the language behind the goals!

4/8/2001

A shot of the team huddle with the scoreboard in the background showing the quarter time scores.

21/7/2001

The game against South was fairly flat, so what better opportunity to show off the mini league side represented here by Davoren Park.Simon Arnott kicks a goal in the 3rd quarter.

7/7/2001

A platoon of Police stand guard at the northern end. I thought it would be nice to take THEIR photos for a change. :) At one stage there were 10 uniformed Police behind the goals as well as security guards and undercover Police. Nice day to rob a bank.CENTRALS warm up at half-time with the picturesque suburb of Alberton in the background. Note the spacious accommodation for fans at the southern end. Reminds me of Unley Oval, only this time it's a Bowling Club that's in the way. :)

30/6/2001

Sam McArdle shepherded through a goal for CENTRALS at the end of the 1st quarter. 3 Eagles players then set upon McArdle, by himself in the goalsquare. McArdle's team mates rushed over and settled the score. Steven Hall (30) was reported for striking.

16/6/2001

A shot of the crowd at the northern end in the first quarter.Sam McArdle kicks a goal. Unfortunately, there were no fans to cheer from behind the goals due to a tennis club being in the way.

Welcome To The Digital Age
11/6/2001 - Centrals def. North

Got myself a digital camera. Below are my first digital footy photos:

Bowen Lockwood is about to kick a goal in the 1st quarter. This was my first CENTRALS digital photo and was initially just a test to see how well I could pick up the crowd at the other end.Chris and Angus.Ah, the old mug where it belongs!
