Game #927, Round 11 17/6/2006 @ Hamra Homes
Oval
Centrals 17.13 (115) def. Port 12.9 (81)

The Magpies were given yet another footballing lesson by Centrals on Saturday.
Completely out-classed, out-muscled and out-smarted.
Matthew Slade played an absolute blinder and was best on ground by a country mile.
But he was assisted by a host of players such as Wilson, Thomas, the Gowans boys,
Stewie Cochrane, Scoullar, O'Sullivan, McCabe and Switala.
The work of Schell, Justin Westhoff and Cowan up forward was great. Port's obvious
tactic of targetting our tall forwards backfired bigtime - playing 2 or 3 players
on a Schell, Cowan or Westhoff means the best group of onballers in the SANFL is
free to run riot.
The only disappointment was the narrow winning margin of only 34 points. Two reasons
for this: Firstly, as a Centrals supporter, I'm used to winning by 10 goals every
game as a minimum. Secondly, the umpiring HEAVILY favoured the Magpies and we SHOULD
have won by at least 10 goals. The final free kick count, I believe, was reported
to be 27 to 16 Port's way including at least 3 bullshit free kicks right in front
of goal. Some have suggested the free kick count was even worse than this.
Funniest comments I heard from Port supporters in and near their inbred cheersquad.
And proof that these confused, part-time supporters should stick to AFL:
1. Centrals player gives away a free kick: "That's a 50 metre!"
2. Port supporter abusing a Centrals player near the fence: "You're shit, Arnott!"
And to the old woman that launched into a frenzy of verbal abuse towards Centrals
fans near the Port cheersquad, I have 2 pieces of advice for you:
1. Put your teeth back in so we can understand what you're screaming.
2. Always remember to bring your medication to the football.
