Yes it's true. The Eagles have managed to win a final against Centrals! But well done to them. Who could begrudge the Eagles a flag after the misery we have inflicted upon them over the years.

The Dogs had their worst minor round performance since the 90's and yet they still managed to make the Grand Final! What an insult to the rest of the league. But more importantly, what a credit to the club and the coaching staff to manage a huge turnover of quality players and introduce a number of juniors to league ranks.

Prediction: The league is going to be in for a shock when the replenished Dogs take the field in 2007. The Dynasty is not over - no more so than at the end of 2002.

Some mention should be made of the chanting at this year's Grand Final. Quite outstanding. If you had arrived at the ground 5 minutes before the final siren, you could have been forgiven for thinking Centrals had won.

Overall, what a fantastic year we've had. We've seen other clubs face similar adversity only to slide down the ladder for a few years. We slid too, but only as far as a Grand Final loss. It would have been outrageous if we had pinched the Premiership this year. And yet we nearly did it. What an amazing club.

Cannot wait for next year! CEEENTRAAALS!
