Looking at the line-up before the game, the Dogs were expected to give West a walloping. But the margin really did blow out. Either West have got a shocking team this year, or they failed to field a decent trial side and therefore made a mockery of their club; Not to mention failing to give us a decent hit-out before the season start.

What makes the result more interesting is the fact the the Dogs still have a pile of league players to return: Aufderheide, Cowan, Graham, Griffin (Crows), O'Sullivan, Sibenaler, Slade, Steinberner (possibly) and Ware.
