The Dogs had their nose in front from start to finish and always looked like they had the game in control. But at the same time, they didn't really put their foot down and shake off Port. The biggest margin Centrals achieved was about 22 points and ended up winning by 10. The conditions were slippery and the usual quick, clean skills of the Dogs were negated.

Best players were the usual suspects. But special mention should go to Goodrem who is becoming an important cog up forward. Justin Westhoff defied the conditions to take several handy marks, and would have sealed the game early for the Dogs if he had kicked a little straighter! And in the backlines, Schell was again unstoppable. I hope he is enjoying his football back there, because he is playing the best football of his career now. With Wilson and Grima back there too, we've surely got the strongest defence in the league.

We noticed a huge amount of crap lying on the roads around the oval. Literally piles of shit everywhere. I commented that this is one of the downsides of inviting a large number of Port supporters to our pristine venue. Although somebody commented the crap may have been left by the police horses that were also present. I'm not convinced.

And in a big disappointment for KG & Cornesy and the "safooty" hate forum, no incidents of crowd violence were reported. No doubt these enemies of the SANFL with their campaigns of misinformation and hysteria contributed to the sub-10,0000 crowd figure. Even so, a crowd of 6,673 is a fantastic result. Full marks to the Centrals and Port supporters who did attend; It was a great night out with plenty of families and kids enjoying the atmosphere. Commiserations to anybody who bought into the scare campaign and missed a great night's entertainment. Don't get fooled again!
