Forget Centrals & Glenelg. The umpires take centre stage!

Game #953, 8/7//2007 Round 14 @ Glenelg Oval
Centrals 14.5(89) def. Glenelg 10.13(73)

The umpiring was really poor. Inconsistent and extremely soft frees were awarded all day. Supporters were unable to abuse the umpires for some of the decisions they were making because nobody could work out what the decisions were for. Particulalry annoying was the awarding of free kicks to Glenelg for players at the opposite end of the ground engaging in a bit of push-and-shove. Stupid, piss-weak umpiring. Listening to the radio on the way home, every caller I heard - both Centrals and Glenelg - had more to say about the umpiring than the game itself. One fellow even went so far as to say the umpiring was down to AFL standard.

To add to this week's confusion, the Centrals v Glenelg underage games were moved to Glenelg Oval due to the state of Hamra Homes Oval. The irony is that Glenelg Oval is now in a worse state.
