The Dogs generally dominated the game, but poor kicking for goal kept the Eagles in it. The Eagles had their moments, but the contest would have been over by half-time if the Dogs had kicked straight. Some of the errors were comical - the best of which was Luke McCabe taking a mark in the goal square, playing on and getting the posts mixed up to kick a point.

It was amzing how McGregor got away with scragging Cowan all night. I don't think Cowan got a single free kick and yet there were times he was being clearly held. He was literally all over him, pulling on the guernsey at exactly the right moments. McGregor was reminding me of Ben Hart when he played for North, especially when it came to the perfectly disguised deliberate out of bounds moves. Must be what they specialise in at the Crows.

Stats:
Centrals has won 27 of the last 28 games at Elizabeth Oval.
Centrals is on a 13-game winning streak at Elizabeth Oval.
The Eagles have not beaten Centrals since the 2006 Grand Final.
