A hard game to sit through. Skills were sloppy in the wet conditions, West were woeful and hardly anybody turned up to watch the game. On the bright side, the heart and endeavour was still present for Centrals and there were moments of brilliance.

The absolute crapness of West Adelaide didn't stop a small hard core of West fans from being their usual "vocal" selves. Their enjoyment of the game seemed to come from clapping Centrals mistakes and calling the Centrals players "dickheads" if they came near the fence. What a sad way to enjoy the footy. Back in the early 1900's, West Adelaide played its home games at the Wayville Showgrounds. I think that's why, to this day, so many West supporters look and sound like sideshow attendants.
