BM Magazine was a "fanzine" for grassroots Bulldogs supporters. It was published from 1994 to 1998 and was available from the
Centrals merchandise van at home games - free of charge.
UDOGS is now able to bring you all 41 issues of BM Magazine in the form of PDF downloads.
To add to the nostalgia, UDOGS will be releasing each edition during the week of home games only from the start of season 2008.
In the first edition, the BM team offered this explanation for the magazine's title:
"In 1983, CD was being annihilated at Norwood
Oval in a pre-season night match. It was in the days when
kids were allowed on to the oval to listen to three quarter
time addresses. Darryl Hicks, then very much under pressure
to keep his job, scalded his players for their meagre efforts
and for allowing the team to find itself in the position
it was. After berating a number of individuals, he turned
to fill-in centreman Brendan Maguire, who up until this time
had copped flack from his own supporters because of his less
than telling performance and singled him out for special
praise: "Brendan Maguire is playing quite well" was
the inspirational message to his charges. How could any man
resist the motivational rush of this statement? The siren
sounded. The players primed, we were ready for a famous burst
of uncompromising CD football. We lost. By a lot."
